What’s the difference between a Spa Facial and a Skin Peel?
Spa facials are for relaxation and include a face, neck and shoulder massage along with a relaxing scalp massage.
They are designed to help destress you and calm your mind as well as soften and hydrate your skin.
Skin peels are a deep exfoliation of the skin using Salicylic and Lactic acid.
They are for rejuvenation and correction of conditions such as acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation and ageing.
What can I expect right after a chemical peel?
The skin is initially tender and more sun-sensitive as the epidermis renews itself.
After the peeling takes its course (usually 3-5 days after the treatment) fresh new skin emerges and ingredients in homecare products start to work more effectively.
What products should I use after my chemical peel?
You will be provided with a post-peel treatment kit and instructions on how to use it for the days following your peel.
If you have any questions you are welcome to contact me.
What do I do when I have finished my post-peel treatment kit?
You will get much better results, long term, by using AlumierMD products which have been recommended to you for use in-between your treatments.
AlumierMD specialise in the treatment of acne, hyperpigmentation, rosacea and an ageing skin.
How do AlumierMD products differ from those you can buy on the high street?
Products bought in a department or high street shop are often diluted and manufactured for general concerns.
AlumierMD products combine a variety of medical-grade ingredients including AHA’s, BHA’s, retinol, antioxidants, plant extracts, vitamins and peptides as well as innovative new components.
The concentrations of these ingredients are generally much higher than in drugstore brands, and work synergistically to improve skin conditions, including acne, rosacea, dry skin, hyperpigmentation and ageing skin.
Can I use AlumierMD products if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Please consult your physician regarding skin care product choices if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Why must I cleanse my face in the morning?
While you sleep, your skin repairs itself, excreting toxins and sebum that can prevent morning products from absorbing into the skin and working optimally.
Also, washing your face in the wrong removes nighttime products, which may contain ingredients that are not recommended for daytime use, including retinol and acids.
What is retinol?
Retinol is a vitamin A derivative and antioxidant that increases cell turnover and strengthens skin, which improves tone and texture.
Retinol minimises the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hypergigmentation.
There are more than 700 published studies on anti-ageing and Retinols.
Why does AlumierMD use microencapsulated retinol?
Microencapsulated retinol allow for a slow release into the skin over hours instead of minutes, which minimises side effects like irritation and redness.
This means you can enjoy all the benefits of retinol with minimal irritation.
